WHAT TO EXPECT
Going into any new place is always a little intimidating, and for some reason this seems even more true when we visit a new church. We wonder things like what should I wear, who will be there, will I know anybody, will I fit in, am I going to be singled out, and the list goes on. We want to try and remove as many of the unknowns as possible for you so your first visit is filled with joy instead of fear.
You are always welcome to visit any of our events or programs but we really believe our worship gathering on Sundays at 10:30 AM is the least intimidating time to visit and will give you the clearest picture of who we are.
You can get a pretty good idea of what our services are like by visiting our livestream if you haven’t already done so. Here are some logistics to help your first visit go smoothly.
We don’t think getting ready for church should be any more complicated than getting ready for work and school. Our church has a casual come as you are environment. If getting dressed up for church is your thing, go for it, you will fit right in. If casual and comfortable is more natural for you, you’ll be right at home. There’s a good chance most of our staff will be in jeans.
There is plenty of parking in the large parking lot at 1501 Scott St.
We will greet you at the glass doors on the Scott St side of the building.
Someone will be there to welcome you and they can help connect with someone at the welcome center.
When you arrive we can help add your kids to our system and get them checked in so they are safe and secure.
Our children’s director would be happy to give you a tour of our children’s ministry areas or you can simply check them in and drop them off.
If the idea of a new place with new people freaks your kids out they are welcome to worship with you.
Once you’ve arrived and maybe grabbed a donut and some coffee we invite you to make yourself comfortable in our sanctuary. There will be a countdown on the screen so you will know how long it will be until the service starts. The service will include a few songs of praise led by our band, time for prayer, giving and a challenging and relevant message rooted in God’s word. We promise that you will not be singled out or put on the spot. We are grateful that you have chosen to be our guest and it’s our hope and prayer that you will encounter God, be encouraged, filled with home and prepared to take your next steps on your faith journey. Our services usually last 60-75 minutes total.
When the service wraps up you are welcome to hang out and visit. If you dropped off your kids with Center Kids you will be able to pick them up and hear all about the fun they had and the things they learned with their new friends.
